My Journey - Part 3: Continued Progress

Updated: Oct 24, 2019

When I hit my first training plateau, I had done enough research now that I knew what I had to to. I had to start increasing my total training volume (sets X reps X weight), as well as start changing up my programming. Not change it up so much that it was an entirely new program, but enough that one or two exercises were replaced with different exercises for particular body parts or even just changing the layout of my workout to place the same excesses in a different section of my workout, so that my body got a different feel from it due to the muscles already being utilized prior in another exercise.

I made these small tweaks where I thought necessary.. and boom! My muscles started responding and I was once again progressing.

By now, I had my diet dialed in. I knew what sort of food agreed with me and what didn't, my Macros were being hit every single without fail and I was feeding myself only the right sorts of fuel for optimal health. I felt like a new man!

By about 6 months' into my journey of this new-found life (which it really did feel like an entirely new me!), I started not only loving to workout and build muscle & strength, but I genuinely loved being in the gym! Whether it was the gym one day a week and using my home gym equipment the other two days... I seriously couldn't wait for my next lifting session to come around.

Next thing I noticed I was finding myself always researching. Not just about health and fitness topics or guides to help myself, but just things in the space that I found fascinating and wanted to know how they worked. Whether it was something I was going to apply or even do myself or not, it didn't matter.. I was just so curious on everything health, fitness and more specifically.. resistance training.

I even started listening to daily fitness podcasts, specifically ones that were all about busting fitness industry myths. I seriously wanted to know everything I could about resistance training and having good health and how to truly be the best version of myself in this life.. it was a crazy, unforeseen passion that was constantly on my mind (and still is today!).
